FULTON, Mo.- The William Woods women's golf team improved their first round score by four shots, shooting a 312 in the second round and now are in sixth place with a total score of 628 (316-312; +52).

The team is just 13 shots behind the overall leaders Cal State San Marcos and Oklahoma City University with a 615 (310-305; +39). Lubbock Christian University, British Columbia University and Savannah College of Arts and Design round out the top five.

FULTON, Mo.- The No. 3 ranked William Woods women's golf team closed out their day one at Nationals with a 316 (+28), led by freshman Alejandra Ferrer.

Ferrer has been a bright spot for the Owls after round one play, as the freshman started off slow bogeying four of her first five holes on the back nine. Ferrer, then was able to par holes 13 and 14 before scoring back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18, heading to the clubhouse at +2. She then scored a birdie on the par four first hole, moving to +1 and near the top of the leaderboard. Alejandra was able to par holes two, five, six, eight and nine but suffered bogeys on holes three, four and seven ending her day with a respectable 76 (+4).

Claremore, Okla. – The sixth ranked Williams Baptist College softball squad came into Wednesday with its back against the wall, needing two wins to advance to the NAIA National Championship Round.  With solid pitching, defense and timely hitting the Lady Eagles obliged by beating bracket host Rogers State twice, 4-1 and 3-0.

Claremore, Okla. – The sixth ranked Williams Baptist College softball squad beat Central Methodist University 7-4 to advance to the NAIA opening round championship games.  The win followed a 5-4 extra inning loss to host Rogers State University.  The loss was WBC's first in the double-elimination opening round being played at Claremore, Okla.

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – For the first time in Missouri Baptist University baseball history, the Spartans will head to the Avista-NAIA World Series after outlasting Tennessee Wesleyan in a 19-inning marathon on Monday afternoon, 4-3.
