HLG Baseball's Springbreak Success

The Hannibal-LaGrange Baseball team headed south for spring break to participate in the Clearwater Invitational held at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium, former spring training home to the Philadelphia Phillies.  It was an exciting week of baseball that had the Trojans playing eight, 7-inning games attempting to earn a premium seed for Saturday's Championship Round.

HLG slugged its way to a 7-0 start, and only dropped its final regular round game.  At 7-1, HLG not only had a giant bull's-eye stuck to them, but had also guaranteed the #1 seed pitting them against a 37-win team in 2007, Northwestern College (IA).

It was truly the Trojans tourney, though, as they played a polished, aggressive brand of baseball that had them seizing a 6-3 victory and toting a trophy, an 8-1 week, and returning to Missouri 10-4 overall.
