(LEBANON, Ill., April 29)--Zoroya Brittan of William Woods University and Valerie Teter have earned American Midwest Conference softball weekly honors for April 28. Brittan was chosen as the AMC Softball Player of the Week, while Teter brought home AMC Softball Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Brittan, a freshman infielder from Valley Park, Mo., posted a batting average of .611 with 11 hits in 18 at-bats covering seven games last week. She added a double, triple, home run and seven RBI. Brittan also scored nine runs as William Woods earned the runner-up spot in the 2008 AMC Softball Tournament last week. At one point last week, Brittan pounded out four consecutive multi-hit games.

Teter, a freshman from Bevier, Mo., tossed three complete games in helping Columbia to the AMC Softball Tournament championship. In 19 innings of work, she allowed just three earned runs, all of which came in the same contest. Teter closed out her week with consecutive shutouts against Williams Baptist College (1-0) and William Woods University (9-0).

For her efforts, Teter was selected as the AMC Freshman and Player of the Year.
