(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 19)--The American Midwest Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 17 is Sophy Yapsabila of McKendree University. The honor was announced recently by the league office.

Yapsabila, a sophomore from Kamala, Uganda, took ninth place out of 57 runners at the Eastern Illinois University Panther Open on Friday in Charleston, Ill. Yapsabila recored a personal best by covering the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:40. Yapsabila led the Bearcats to a sixth-place finish at the meet.
