Elias Melly took 12th place at the SIU Saluki Invitational
(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 30)--Elias Melly of McKendree University has been chosen as the American Midwest Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 30.
Melly, a sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya, raced his way to a 12th-place finish Saturday at the Saluki Invitational, which was hosted by Southern Illinois University. Melly covered the challening eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:31, facing a field deep with NCAA Division I competition. Melly was the top finisher for McKendree, which took sixth place in the team standings.
McKendree University will race at the Border Wars Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11.
