(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 13)--Columbia College rolled to its 15th AMC Tournament championship with a sweep of Missouri Baptist on Saturday in the title match of the 2008 American Midwest Conference Volleyball Tournament.  The Cougars took the best-of-five match by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-18.

Columbia was led by Maria Omondi, who registered a team-high 14 kills, while Luana Branco handed out a team-best 30 assists. Branco also contributed four digs and five blocks.
The victory gives Columbia the AMC's automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament, which begins with opening-round play on Saturday, Nov. 22. The winners of 12 first-round contests will join the 12 top seeds at the final site in Sioux City, Iowa, for a 24-team pool play tournament that runs Dec. 2-6.
