ST. LOUIS, Mo. – American Midwest Conference (AMC) Commissioner, Will Wolper, has announced Scott Barker as the new Sports Information Director (SID).
Barker comes to the AMC after spending the previous nine months serving as the SID at University of Mobile in Mobile, Ala.
"I know the Sports Information Directors at our 13 schools share my excitement of having Scott join the AMC," said AMC Commissioner, Will Wolper. "As an alum of one of our member schools, Scott comes in with knowledge of the AMC and many of the people around the Conference that he will work with closely. A conference SID role is quite different than that of an institution SID and Scott's previous experience at the NAIA National Office will serve him well in his role at the AMC."
Prior to his position at Mobile, Barker spent a year interning in the Sports Information and Communications department at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national office in Kansas City, Mo.
Barker, a graduate of William Woods University (Mo.), served as an Intern for the Sports Information Department for two years.
"I'm extremely honored to be in this position," said Barker. "I'm ready to hit the ground running and improve the already great AMC."
