Tricia Driver threw the first seven-inning perfect game in Williams Baptist softball history
(LEBANON, Ill., April 13)--Tricia Driver of Williams Baptist College and Kayla White of McKendree University have been honored as the top softball players in the American Midwest Conference for the week of April 6-12.

Driver has been selected as the AMC Softball Pitcher of the Week, while White grabbed AMC Softball Player of the Week accolades. The awards were announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Driver, a freshman from Montgomery, Texas, etched her name in the Williams Baptist record books with her performance in the Eagles' 7-0 win over Stephens College on April 6. Driver tossed the first seven-inning perfect game in team history, striking out 14 batters in the process.

For the season, Driver has a season record of 7-5 with an earned-run average of 2.36. She leads the team in victories, as well as strikeouts with 58.

White, a senior outfielder from Buncombe, Ill., won a tight race for player honors as she batted .667 (4-for-6) with three runs scored, a double and a run batted in during the Bearcats' AMC sweep of the University of Illinois at Springfield. A four-year starter in center field for McKendree, White is batting .337 on the season with a team-high 20 runs scored.
