Valerie Teter has added AMC Pitcher of the Year honors to her list of awards from 2008
(LEBANON, Ill., May 3)--The American Midwest Conference has announced the members of its 2009 Softball All-Conference team. The honors were released Sunday at the conclusion of the AMC Tournament at Field of Legends Complex in Jefferson City, Mo. McKendree University came through the elimination bracket to win this year's tournament.

T.J. Quick, a senior outfielder from Fulton, Mo., earned the vote from the league's nine head coaches at the 2009 AMC Player of the Year. Quick batted .396 during the regular season and led the conference in both runs scored (45) and stolen bases (17). From her leadoff spot in the lineup, Quick drove in seven runs and drew 25 walks prior to the AMC Tournament.

After winning AMC Player of the Year honors as a freshman in 2008, sophomore Valerie Teter of Columbia College was selected as the 2009 AMC Pitcher of the Year. Teter appeared in 19 games and tossed 15 complete games. She had a record of 15-2 on the year with an earned-run average of 0.57. Teter was a perfect 7-0 in AMC play and ranked among national leaders in ERA, opponents' batting average and strikeouts per contest. Teter was equally as dangerous at the plate, leading the Cougars with a .390 batting average with six home runs.

Earning the 2009 AMC Newcomer of the Year award, which is given to the league's top transfer player, is Colleen Dailey of William Woods University. Dailey, a junior catcher/designated player from Ellisville, Mo., collected a .358 batting average with five home runs and 40 RBI. Dailey also had 17 doubles during the regular season. In AMC competition, Dailey batted .373 with 16 RBI.

She was 7-2 during conference play. At the plate, Schulte batted .303 and had five game-winning RBI.

The 2009 AMC Softball Coach of the Year is Tracy Gastineau of William Woods University. Gastineau guided the Owls to a 13-3 AMC regular-season record and the league championship. Now in her 12th season as the head softball coach at William Woods, Gastineau coached the Owls to a 31-15 record during the 2009 regular season.
