William Woods Women's Golf Completes Day One

(RAPID CITY, S.D., May 12) - The William Woods University women's golf team completed day one at the 2009 NAIA National Championships.  The tournament is being held at the Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rapid City, South Dakota.  The 8th ranked Owls shot an opening round 331 (+43).  William Woods is competing in its sixth consecutive NAIA National Championship.

The Owls are in 16th place after one round of play.  California Baptist University leads the field with an opening round 297 (+9).
 
Senior Charleen Cruchelow (Waukee, Iowa) led the Owls on day one.  Cruchelow shot an opening round 80 (+8), and is currently tied for 43rd place.
