(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 4)--Phil Guidry of William Woods University is the Oct. 3 recipient of American Midwest Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.

Guidry, a junior from Lafayette, La., was 10th out of 239 runners at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in Chicago. Guidry posted a time of 26:35 on an eight-kilometer course.

Thanks in part to Guidry's efforts, William Woods took third overall out of 25 teams competing in the Maroon Division. The Owls finished behind NCAA Division III member Calvin College and NCAA II Ferris State University.

This is the first AMC cross country honor for Guidry.
