(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 20)--The American Midwest Conference has announced its women's soccer weekly award honorees for the period covering Oct. 12-18.

Natalie Parker of Park University has been named the AMC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Kelsey Johnson from McKendree University grabbed AMC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week mention. The awards were selected late Monday by the conference office.

Parker, a senior forward from Durham, England, netted both goals in a 2-0 AMC victory for Park over Hannibal-LaGrange College. The victory allowed the Pirates to move to 8-3-1 overall and remain in second place in league play at 5-1.

This is the second time in three weeks that Parker has earned the AMC Offensive Player of the Week award.

Johnson, a senior defender from Granite City, Ill., helped lead the Bearcats to their ninth shutout of the 2009 season, an 8-0 win over Culver-Stockton College. Johnson also got involved on the offensive end with her first goal of the season.

Johnson is a four-year starter for the Bearcats and has anchored a defense that has allowed just five goals on the year.
