(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 27)--The American Midwest Conference has announced its Women's Soccer Player of the Week honorees for Oct. 19-25.

Juneille Watkins of Park University has been selected as the AMC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Liz Yanko from McKendree University has been tabbed as the AMC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Watkins, a freshman forward from St. Andrew, Jamaica, netted her first career hat trick in the Pirates' 10-0 AMC victory at Harris-Stowe State University. Watkin's effort helped propel Park, the No. 19-ranked team in the NAIA, to its ninth victory of 2009.

Yanko, a junior goalkeeper from St. Louis, Mo., was solid in goal for three AMC victories last week. She allowed just one goal on the week in a 2-1 road win at Missouri Baptist University. Yanko closed out the week with consecutive shutouts at home against Hannibal-LaGrange College (3-0) and No. 19-ranked Park University (1-0). The win over Park enabled McKendree, the No. 9-rated team in the latest NAIA poll, to claim its seventh consecutive AMC regular-season title.
