Sulyn Keomanivane posted 10 goals and eight assists in the 2009 regular season
(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 12)-The American Midwest Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference team for 2009 has been released by the league office.

Sophomore forward Sulyn Keomanivane of McKendree University is the 2009 AMC Women's Soccer Player of the Year. The AMC Freshman of the Year in 2008 did not suffer a sophomore jinx for the Bearcats as she led the 2009 squad with 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points. Keomanivane becomes the fifth McKendree player in the last six years to receive the league's top individual award in women's soccer.

The 2009 AMC Newcomer of the Year award, given to the league's top transfer player, was earned by Anne Weaver of William Woods University. Weaver, a sophomore forward from St. Charles, Mo., netted seven goals with an assist for the Owls this season.

Winning a close vote for 2009 AMC Freshman of the Year accolades was Fernanda Miacci of Hannibal-LaGrange College. Miacci, a forward from Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, registered eight goals with four assists during the regular season for the Trojans.

For the seventh year in a row - and eighth time in the last nine years -- Tim Strange of McKendree University was selected as the 2009 AMC Coach of the Year. Now in his 11th season at McKendree, Strange led the Bearcats to a record of 15-1-2 during regular-season play. McKendree also notched their second consecutive 10-0 finish in AMC action.

The AMC Fair Play and Sportsmanship Award is also voted upon by the conference coaches. This annual award is presented to the program that exhibits those qualities. The 2009 AMC women's soccer Fair Play and Sportsmanship Award winner is Hannibal-LaGrange College.
