Haley Klingelhoefer scored a career-high 26 points in the Bearcats' 96-72 win at Olivet Nazarene
(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 8)--Haley Klingelhoefer from McKendree University has been honored as the first American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week recipient for the 2009-10 season. The award covers games played from Nov. 30-Dec. 6.

Klingelhoefer, a senior guard from Mascoutah, Ill., averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in a pair of Bearcat victories last week. In addition, she shot 57.1 percent (16-of-28) from the field, was a blistering 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from three-point range and hit both of her free throw attempts on the week. Klingelhoefer also added four assists, four steals and a blocked shot.

In McKendree's 96-72 victory at Olivet Nazarene University, Klingelhoefer poured in a career-high 26 points with eight rebounds in just 27 minutes of play. Klingelhoefer followed that effort with a 13-point performance in a McKendree victory at home against the University of St. Francis (Ill.).

Through 12 games, Klingelhoefer is averaging 12.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for McKendree. She leads the Bearcats with 40 assists. McKendree is off to a 9-3 start in 2009-10.
