(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 5)--The American Midwest Conference has named Rachel Oswald of Columbia College as its Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 4.

Oswald, a 6-0 senior forward from Boonville, Mo., helped the Lady Cougars extend their winning streak to 11 consecutive games with her effort in two contests last week. Oswald averaged 17 points and seven rebounds in those games, hitting 9-of-18 shots from the field and making 16-of-21 free throw attempts. In addition, Oswald had four assists and three blocked shots in Columbia wins over Lyon College (65-57) and Missouri Valley College (78-49).

Against Missouri Valley, Oswald notched a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. For her efforts last week, she was named as the Most Valuable Player in the Cougars vs. Cancer Classic.
