Megan Payton came through for Missouri Baptist in their win at Stephens
(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 11)--Megan Payton of Missouri Baptist University beat out a large pool of candidates to claim American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Jan. 11. The honor covers games played from Jan. 4-10.

Payton, a junior guard from Bloomington, Ind., was a difference-maker in the Spartans' 75-66 victory Saturday at home against Stephens College. Payton netted 28 points with eight rebounds in the win. She was 11-of-24 from the field and made 6-of-9 attempts from the free throw line. Payton also had three steals and an assist in the contest.

Through 13 games this season, Payton leads Missouri Baptist in scoring at 19.8 points per contest. The Spartans are currently 9-4 on the year and are 1-0 in AMC play.
