(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 18)--The American Midwest Conference announced on Monday that Dominique Hayes is the Jan. 18 recipient of AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors.
Hayes, a sophomore forward from Kansas City, Mo., was a force for the Pirates in two road losses at Williams Baptist College over the weekend. In the two games, Hayes averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds per outing. She shot nearly 61 percent (17-of-28) from the field and was 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) from the free throw line. In addition, Hayes added five steals and two assists on the week.
Hayes was remarkable consistent at Williams Baptist, posting 22 points and 15 rebounds in a 63-60 loss to the Lady Eagles before registering 20 points and 11 rebounds the next afternoon in an 84-62 defeat.
For the season, Hayes leads Park in both scoring (10.6 PPG) and rebounding (7.9 RPG).
