Brandon Roberson reached the 1,000-point mark in just his second season at Missouri Baptist
(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 8)--Brandon Roberson of MIssouri Baptist University soared above a large pool of nominees to claim American Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Feb. 8.

Roberson, a senior guard from Rosharon, Texas, averaged 20 points, five rebounds and 6.5 assists as the Spartans split a pair of games on the week. He shot 57.1 percent from the field and made all five of his free throw attempts in the two contests.

In the Spartans' 103-62 win Saturday at home against Logan College of Chiropractic, Roberson hit a career milestone during his 30-point effort. Roberson joined Missouri Baptist's 1,000-Point Club, and did so in just his second year in the program. He now has 1,003 career points with the Spartans.

Roberson currently leads the AMC in scoring at 19.4 points per game. He also ranks among conference leaders in field goal percentage at 47.7 percent. Roberson was the AMC's Newcomer of the Year in 2008-09.
