Nadia Moore from McKendree was named the meet's Oustanding Field Athlete

(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 20)-The McKendree University women's indoor track and field team took top honors Friday at the American Midwest Conference Championships, held on the campus of the University of Missouri.

McKendree scored a total of 169 points to earn the title in the four-team field. The Bearcats held off Hannibal-LaGrange College (120 points), Missouri Baptist University (101 points) and William Woods University (88 points).

Nadia Moore of McKendree was named the Outstanding Field Athlete of Friday's meet. Moore finished first in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Tiffany Jackson from Missouri Baptist earned Outstanding Track Athlete honors on Friday. Jackson won the 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash. She was also part of the Spartans' second-place 4 x 400-meter relay team.

Neal West of McKendree was recognized as the 2010 AMC Indoor Track and Field Women's Coach of the Year. West has guided the Bearcat program to a trio of AMC track titles, including each of the first two AMC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

AMC team now begin preparations for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, which will be held March 4-6 in Johnson City, Tenn.
