(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 23)--Park University guard Terrell Dyer has been honored by the American Midwest Conference as the league's Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The honor covers games played from Feb. 15-21.

Dyer, a senior from Overland Park, Kan., played a key role in three Park victories last week. Dyer averaged 18 points and four rebounds per contest. He also dished out 14 assists, grabbed four steals and swatted away one shot in those outings. Dyer shot 54.5 percent from the field (18-of-33) and connected on 7-of-10 three-point attempts.

In a 71-50 road win at William Woods University, Dyer had his most productive game of the week. Dyer connected for 23 points and added eight rebounds and six assists. He then had 18 points in a Senior Day home victory against Hannibal-LaGrange College.

Thanks in part to Dyer's efforts, Park holds a half-game lead over McKendree University in the AMC standings heading into the final week of regular-season play. The Pirates and Bearcats will meet for the conference regular-season title Feb. 27 in Lebanon, Ill.

For the season, Dyer is averaging 11.2 points and four rebounds per game. Dyer is third on the team with 52 assists.

OTHERS NOMINATED FOR AMC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brad Copelin of McKendree University, Greg Stegeman of Columbia College and Brock Webber of Hannibal-LaGrange College.
