Eric Hobbie leads top-seeded McKendree in scoring this season
(LEBANON, Ill., March 9)--For the second time in three years, and sixth time overall, the McKendree University Bearcats are the American Midwest Conference Tournament champions.

Eric Hobbie scored a career-high 32 points, while Kenny Detmer chipped in with a career-best 25 points along with 11 rebounds to lead McKendree, the top seed in the AMC Tournament, to an 84-66 win Tuesday against Park University. Andy Wolff also dished out a career-high 11 assists for the Bearcats, who improve to 27-6 overall.

By winning Tuesday's title game, McKendree receives the AMC's automatic bid to the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship, which will be held March 17-23 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. Park will also earn an at-large bid to the NAIA Tournament. Qualifiers and first-round pairings will be announced Wednesday afternoon.
