After trailing by 18 at the half, the Pirates opened the second period on a 5-0 run, cutting Biola's lead to 43-30, but after back-to-back buckets from Rodgers kept it manageable at 51-37, Biola used a used a 14-0 run to take a 65-40 lead midway through the second half.

Hairston buried a pair of threes and Philip Garnett added another as the clock crossed 7:00, getting Park back within 67-48, and with 5:30 left, Rodgers poked a Biola pass away and finished with a lay-up to make it 67-50. The Pirates got out to a quick start in the game, getting baskets from Rodgers and Deng to take a 4-0 lead in the opening two minutes, but a 6-0 Biola run, capped by a Nate Rakestraw jumper, gave the Eagles a 6-4 lead with 17:02 in the first.
