(FULTON, Mo., March 24)--The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its 2010 All-American Basketball Team. Junior Rachel Baker (Mexico, Mo.) was selected to the Third Team for the second consecutive year.
 

Baker averaged 14.5 points and 9.3 rebounds this season for the Owls. Her 98 blocked shots set a new William Woods University single season record. Baker was also selected Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), First Team All-American Midwest Conference and Academic All-AMC. She finished the 2009-10 season ranked second nationally in defensive rebounds per game, fifth in blocks per game and sixth in total blocks.

 

Baker will enter her senior year among the William Woods career leaders in points, rebounds, steals and blocked shots.

 

The Owls finished the 2009-10 season 29-3, and ranked 15th in the final NAIA Top 25 poll. William Woods concluded another successful season under head coach Dan Chapla. In his two seasons at the helm, the Owls have two American Midwest Conference regular season Co-Championships, two AMC tournament championships and back-to-back trips to the NAIA National Tournament.
