Though work began over the winter, MBU campus officials celebrated the official groundbreaking on a beautiful Spring day alongside MBU faculty, staff, students, board members, and friends. The groundbreaking also marked the beginning of construction of Spartan Village, a new residential community

The new 47,000 square feet, Sports and Recreation Complex will include a 1,000 seat gymnasium, a suspended indoor track, locker rooms, a concession area in Spartan Hall, an expanded training and fitness center, new classrooms, offices for faculty and coaching staff, and will house Missouri Baptist University's Health and Sports Sciences division.
