(LEBANON, Ill., April 20)--A pair of worthy recipients have claimed American Midwest Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for April 19.

Angie Maue of McKendree University has been named the AMC Softball Player of the Week, while Karisa Hendrix of Williams Baptist College is the choice for AMC Softball Pitcher of the Week accolades. Maue and Hendrix both put up big numbers for their respective institutions in games played from April 12-18.

Maue, a senior catcher from Trenton, Ill., batted .500 on the week with 10 hits in 20 at-bats. Maue had two doubles, a home run and six RBI during that span. In addition, she slugged ,800 and scored a pair of runs. Maue, the 2006 AMC Player and Freshman of the Year, led the Bearcats to a 5-1 week. McKendree entered the week with an overall record of 30-14 and a 10-4 mark in league play.

Through 44 games this season, Maue is batting. 331 and leads the Bearcats with eight home runs and 39 RBI.

Hendrix has earned AMC Pitcher of the Week recognition in three of the last four weeks. Hendrix, a freshman from Cherokee Village, Ark., sparkled on the mound last week with a perfect 6-0 record for the Eagles. Of her six wins, five came via shutout. Hendrix allowed two hits or less in four of those six appearances, including a no-hitter against and one-hitter against Stephens College. Hendrix struck out 47 batters in 41 innings while walking just four.

So far in 2010, Hendrix has a record of 15-4 with an earned-run average of 1.27. In 126 1/3 innings of work, Hendrix has struck out 134 batters.
