(LEBANON, Ill., April 27)--The American Midwest Conference has announced its recipients of baseball weekly honors for the period covering April 19-25.

Matt Holliman of Missouri Baptist University is this week's honoree as AMC Baseball Player of the Week, while Jacob Genz of Hannibal-LaGrange College has been recognized as the AMC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Holliman, a senior shortstop from Germantown, Tenn., posted a .462 batting average with six hits in 13 at-bats last week. Five of his six hits went for extra bases with two doubles and three home runs. Holliman also posted six RBI with eight runs scored and a slugging percentage of 1.308. Holliman provided the game-winning, walk-off home run in the Spartans' 11-10 upset victory over No. 13-ranked Union University. Missouri Baptist rolled to a sweep of the non-conference doubleheader, which gave MissourI Baptist head coach Eddie Uschold his 400th career victory.

Holliman is hitting .373 this season with 11 home runs and 39 RBI. Holliman is also tied for the team lead with 12 doubles.
