(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 7)--Cheryl Held of William Woods University has been selected as the first American Midwest Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honoree for the 2010 season.

Held, a junior from Wildwood, Mo., took third place out of 147 runners on Saturday at the Washington University Early Bird Meet. Held covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 14:55.

Held, who was an All-Conference selection following the 2009 season, was an NAIA national qualifier last fall after taking fifth place in last year's conference championship meet.
