(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 23)--Jakub Piotrowski of the University of Illinois at Springfield and Ryan Miller of McKendree University have been selected as the American Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 22.

Piotrowski, a junior forward from Harwood Heights, Ill., captured his third AMC Offensive Player of the Week award in 2007. He netted three goals and added an assist in three games last week for the Prairie Stars. Piotrowski's most productive outing came in a 3-2 win at Saint Xavier University, where he posted two goals and an assist.

Through the end of regular-season play for UIS, Piotrowski is the team leader in goals with 15. He has also added six assists for a team-best 36 points.

Miller, a junior back from Sycamore, Ill., was a key defender and attacker for the Bearcats last week. He helped McKendree post AMC victories over William Woods University and the University of Illinois at Springfield. In addition to his solid defensive play, Miller registered the game-winning goal with 49 seconds left in the second overtime period of the Bearcats' 2-1 win at UIS. The victory allowed the Bearcats to clinch their first-ever AMC regular-season championship.

For the season, Miller has recorded three goals with two assists. McKendree, the No. 22-ranked team in the NAIA, is undefeated in its last 14 matches and is 15-1-1 overall. The Bearcats completed AMC play with a perfect 7-0 record.
