(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 23)--Sarah Ryan and Kelsey Johnson of McKendree University have earned American Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week accolades for Oct. 22.

Ryan, a sophomore midfielder from Rochester, Ill., netted a pair of goals in a 3-1 victory last Saturday at William Woods University. The victory enabled the Bearcats to clinch their fifth consecutive AMC regular-season champion in a battle of conference unbeatens. The win also stretched McKendree's AMC win streak to 21 consecutive matches, dating back to the 2003 season.

Ryan has a team-high eight goals this season. She is also tied for the team lead with 18 points.

Johnson, a sophomore back from Granite City, Ill., has excelled as the Bearcats' marking back all season. Despite playing most of the season with a lingering shoulder injury, Johnson helped guide a McKendree defense that allowed just two goals in AMC play this season.

The 2006 AMC Co-Freshman of the Year, Johnson has one goal on the season.
