(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 1)--No. 4 seed the University of Illinois at Springfield punched its ticket to the NAIA Region V Men's Soccer Tournament with a 2-0 victory Thursday evening against No. 3 Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis.
With the victory, the Prairie Stars earn the final berth in the NAIA Region V Tournament that begins with quarterfinal play on Saturday, Nov. 3. UIS will travel to Atchison, Kan., to take on Benedictine College.
Here are the final 2007 AMC Men's Soccer Tournament Play-In results:
SEMIFINAL ROUND -- Tuesday, Oct. 30 (Higher Seed Hosts)
#4 University of Illinois at Springfield def. #1 Hannibal-LaGrange College, 2-1
#3 Missouri Baptist University tied #2 Columbia College, 3-3 (2 OT)
(Missouri Baptist advances on penalty kicks, 3-1)
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME -- Thursday, Nov. 1 (Highest Remaining Seed Hosts)#4 University of Illinois at Springfield def. #3 Missouri Baptist University, 2-0
McKendree University, the 2007 AMC men's soccer regular-season champion, has already earned a berth in the NAIA Region V Tournament.
