(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 30)--Jarius Holmes of McKendree University has been selected as the American Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 29.

Holmes, a senior midfielder from O'Fallon, Ill., scored a goal in the Bearcats' 2-0 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The win helped McKendree wrap up its 2007 regular season with an overall record of 16-1-1. The Bearcats clinched the AMC regular-season title by posting a 7-0 record in conference play.


The 2006 AMC Newcomer of the Year, Holmes has collected seven goals and five assists for 19 points this season.

No players were nominated for the AMC Defensive Player of the Week.
