ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Stephens College's Megan Sheffield is the AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging a double-double and shooting nearly 62-percent from the floor for the Stars in two games last week.

A senior forward from Windsor, Mo., Sheffield scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 64-59 loss to Central Methodist, also posting two blocks, two assists, and a steal, while going 8-of-13 from the floor. She hit three of her four attempted free throws in the game in more than 30 minutes of court time.

The 6-foot-2 Sheffield then scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a 51-43 loss to the University of Saint Mary. She had four assists against the Spires and blocked three shots while going 5-of-8 from the floor.

Sheffield finished the week with five blocks and six assists, and offensively, she was 13-of-21 from the field.

Stephens College is 1-9 on the season and returns to action Jan. 6 at Roosevelt University.
