(FULTON, Mo., Jan. 17)--William Woods University has announced the hiring of Jennifer Mueller as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach. Mueller replaces Adam Longmore who resigned his position in November.
Mueller comes to William Woods from Lafayette County High School in Higginsville, Missouri. Mueller spent one year as an assistant varsity volleyball coach for Lafayette County.
Prior to Lafayette County, she spent one season as an assistant volleyball coach at NCAA Division II University of Central Missouri. That year, UCM finished with a record of 26-10. The Jennies finished third in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAA) and advanced to the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament.
Coach Mueller will also bring head coaching experience to William Woods. Before her stint as an assistant at the University of Central Missouri, Mueller spent three years as the head volleyball coach at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. Her final year at Coffeyville, Coach Mueller led her squad to a fourth place finish in the talent-rich Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
“Coach Mueller’s arrival will signal a new beginning for the William Woods University women’s volleyball program,” said Larry York, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at William Woods. “Her knowledge of the game and her desire to field a fundamentally sound and disciplined team will help to insure the success that is sure to develop as she implements her program. One of Coach Mueller’s strengths is her interest in educating the total person. There is little doubt that a balance between academics and athletics will be maintained.”
