ST. LOUIS – The American Midwest Conference will enter a new era of branding in 2015-16, as commissioner Will Wolper announced a new logo, which will be used fully in place of the AMC's current logo beginning August 1.
The logo package features a primary mark, individual sport logos, championship logos and special-use logos to create and enhance the unified brand for the American Midwest Conference.
"It's an exciting time as the American Midwest Conference enters our next phase, and what better way to do that than with a fresh look," Wolper said. "The entire logo package, from the primary and secondary marks to individual sport and championship logos, to special-use logos, gives an updated feel to the Conference brand that can be in the forefront of our continued efforts to make the AMC known and one of the premier conferences in the NAIA.
COLUMBIA, MO. - Columbia College Athletic Director Bob Burchard has been named the 2014-15 American Midwest Conference Athletic Director of the Year. Since his arrival at Columbia College in 1988, Burchard has been awarded AD of the Year seven different times as he has helped mold not only the Cougars' men's basketball programs, but its overall athletic department, into one of the top units in the NAIA.
As a coach, he ranks among NAIA leaders with 690 victories entering the 2015-16 season. During his career at Columbia, Burchard has guided the Cougars to 19 NAIA Tournament appearances and 14 conference regular-season and/or tournament titles.
ST. LOUIS – While the American Midwest Conference has had a reputation for quality competition on the playing field, Wednesday, July 15, the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics released their list of 1,052 NAIA Scholar-Teams which included an astonishing 70 teams from AMC member institutions.
ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist Women's Tennis has always been one of the top teams in the classroom at the University. On Wednesday afternoon, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced that the team has been named the National Scholar-Team of the Year after posting a 3.94 GPA last year.
ST. LOUIS - Park University's Wanessa Siqueira was named the American Midwest Conference's 2015 Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award recipient, Monday (July 13), an award created to honor Dr. LeRoy Walker, a former president of the NAIA and President emeritus of the United States Olympic Committee.
