Player of the Week - Tim Nagel, McKendree College Lebanon, Ill. – Tim Nagel of McKendree College has been selected as the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for March 21-27. Nagel, a 5-10 senior outfielder from Highland, Ill., batted .455 in leading the Bearcats to a four-game sweep of Waldorf College. In 11 at-bats, Nagel collected five hits, including a double and his first home run of the season. He also drove in four runs. Nagel was instrumental during McKendree's 3-1, come-from-behind win on Saturday as he drove in the tying run and stole home for the go-ahead run in a three-run sixth inning. Nagel currently leads McKendree with a .409 average, 31 runs scored and 38 hits. Also Nominated: No other nominees Pitcher of the Week – Drew Gericke, McKendree College Lebanon, Ill. – Drew Gericke of McKendree College has been named the AMC Pitcher of the Week for March 21-27. Gericke, a 6-3 senior right-hander from Smithton, Ill., earned saves in both of his appearances for the week against Waldorf College. He retired all six batters that he faced, with one strikeout. Gericke has converted each of his last three save opportunities. He leads the Bearcats with five saves on the year. In seven appearances, Gericke has posted an earned-run average of 2.57.
