2007 Player and Pitcher of the Week Honorees

Lebanon, Ill.
– Jack Kopacz of Missouri Baptist University has been selected as the
American Midwest Conference Baseball Player of the Week for April 16. Kopacz,
a senior catcher from Wauconda, Ill., batted a robust .667 in leading the
Spartans to a pair of victories last week. Kopacz was 6-of-9 at the plate
with a pair of doubles, one home run and six RBI. He belted his lone home
run of the week in AMC play against McKendree College. Kopacz is a
three-year starter and team captain for Missouri Baptist. Pitcher of the Week – Matt Mammem, Harris-Stowe State University Lebanon, Ill.

State University tossed a gem to earn American Midwest Conference Baseball
Pitcher of the Week honors for April 16. Mammen, a junior left-hander from
Delavan, Ill., pitched a seven-inning no-hitter in a 6-0 win against AMC foe
Hannibal-LaGrange College. Mammen allowed just one walk and struck out 10 in
the no-hitter. |
