Player of the Week – Dave Causey, McKendree College

Kirksville, MO - Dave Causey, a 6-1 senior for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the AMC Player of the Week in men's baseball. Causey, who doubles as a pitcher and third baseman for the Bearcats, was on fire at the plate last week, belting 13 hits in 31 at-bats for a batting average of .419. Versus conference foe Park College, the Centralia, Ill. native hit a game-winning two-run home run in the 11th inning to give McKendree an 8-6 victory. In addition, he pitched four innings of hitless relief to pick up the win in that same contest. Causey led his team to a 9-0 record last week, scoring seven runs, belting three doubles, one triple and three home runs and recording 11 RBIs.

Pitcher of the Week – Leo Santiago, Missouri Baptist College

Kirksville, MO - Leo Santiago, a right-hander from San Juan, Puerto Rico, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in men's baseball.  In a 2-1 win over AMC opponent William Woods University, Santiago pitched a complete game, allowing only one earned run. Santiago struck out seven batters, while walking only one in the victory.

Also nominated: John French, McKendree College; Zach Lamb, William Woods University.
