Player of the Week – Joe Vesely, Park University

Kirksville, MO -Joe Vesely, a third baseman for the Park University Pirates, has been named the AMC Player of the Week in men's baseball. The 6-3 right-hander was unstoppable offensively last week, swatting 10 hits in 15 at-bats and recording a .667 batting average. Vesely scored eight runs, leading Park University to three out of four conference victories over Harris-Stowe State College. The Phoenix, Ariz. native totaled four doubles, one triple and seven RBIs, while striking out on only once.

Pitcher of the Week – Rob Morris, Missouri Baptist College

Kirksville, MO - Rob Morris, a junior right-handed hurler from Missouri Baptist College, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in men's baseball. Versus McKendree College, the league's top slugging team, Morris allowed only two hits and gave up no earned runs. Morris, who hails from Brighton, Mich., walked only one batter in five innings, leading the Spartans to an 11-0 victory.
