Men's Basketball - Mike Strobbe, McKendree College
Mike Strobbe of McKendree College has been selected as the American Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 4. Strobbe, a 6-7 senior forward from Ferguson, Mo., helped lead the Bearcats to a 2-1 record last week and an 8-4 start to the 2006-07 season. In three games last week, Strobbe averaged 19.3 points, 12.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He shot 54 percent from the field, hitting 21-of-39 shots, while making 16-of-20 free throw attempts for 80 percent. He had 21 points and 15 rebounds against #21-ranked Campbellsville University, and followed that with a 21-point, 14-rebound performance in a win over #18 Olivet Nazarene University at the Olivet Nazarene Classic. For his efforts, Strobbe was named to the All-Tournament team.

Women's Basketball - Rachel Davis, Columbia College
Rachel Davis of Columbia College is the Dec. 4 honoree as the American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Davis, a 6-1 senior forward from Jefferson City, Mo., posted 18 points and eight rebounds as the Cougars scratched out a 68-67 overtime home win over Lindenwood University. Davis was 8-of-16 from the field and 2-of-5 from three-point range. The #25-ranked Cougars are off to a 7-1 start in 2006-07.
