Men's Basketball - Jeremy Bell, Williams Baptist College
Jeremy Bell of Williams Baptist College has been selected as the American Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 28. Bell, a 6-0 senior guard from Marked Tree, Ark., averaged 28.5 points in two Eagle victories last week. He poured in 29 points in a key AMC victory at the University of Illinois-Springfield, and followed that with a 28-point performance at home against Harris-Stowe. Bell also averaged six rebounds and two steals per contest. He shot 50 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free throw line

Women's Basketball - Angela Cerrito, Missouri Baptist University
Angela Cerrito of Missouri Baptist University has been named the American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 28. Cerrito, a 5-6 guard from Chicago, Ill., averaged 28.5 points, five rebounds and three steals in helping the Spartans to two conference wins on the week. Against Harris-Stowe State College, Cerrito tied a school record with nine three-point field goals, finishing the game with 37 points, five rebounds, three assists and five steals. She followed up that performance with  20 points and five rebounds against the University of Illinois-Springfield. On the week, Cerrito shot 56 percent from the floor, and connected on 12-of-26 three-point shots.
