Men's Basketball - Brad Fischer, McKendree College
Brad Fischer, a junior guard for McKendree College, is the AMC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 10. Fischer, from Breese, Ill., led the Bearcats to a pair of wins in three games last week in Florida, including one in dramatic fashion. For the week, Fischer averaged 18 points in the three outings while shooting 54.3 percent from the field, 90 percent from the free throw line and 41.2 percent from three-point range. Fischer's 35-foot bank shot at the buzzer lifted McKendree to a 62-61 victory against Cumberland University in the Flagler University Holiday Classic. He earned All-Tournament honors in the Classic.

Women's Basketball - Charliss Ridley, Columbia College
For the second consecutive week, Charliss Ridley, a senior forward for the Columbia Lady Cougars, is the AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Ridley, from Wheaton, Ill., guided the Cougars to a 2-1 record on the week with wins over Central Methodist University and Brescia University. On the week, Ridley averaged 16.3 points and 11.3 rebounds with 3.3 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from three-point field goal range. Ridley was named to the All-Classic team in the Columbia College Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
