Men's Basketball - Bryant Chambly, Columbia College
Bryant Chambly of Columbia College is the first 2005-06 selection as
American Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Chambly,
a 6-4 junior forward from St. Louis, Mo., helped the Cougars to a pair
of victories last weekend in the Cartridge World/Cougars vs. Cancer
Classic. In those two games, Chambly averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds
and 1.5 steals in wins against NAIA II No. 10-ranked Taylor University
and Brescia University. Against Brescia, Chambly posted 23 points and
eight rebounds. He shot 40 percent from the field, 30 percent from
three-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line.

Women's Basketball - LeAnn Fossum, Columbia College
LeAnn Fossum of Columbia College is the first AMC Women's Basketball
Player of the Week for the 2005-06 season. Fossum, a 6-0 senior forward
from Harrisburg, Mo., posted 16 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games
during the Cartridge World/Cougars vs. Cancer Classic last week. Fossum
recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds in the Cougars' 75-65 home victory
against Robert Morris College. For the week, Fossum shot 48 percent from
the field, 60 percent from beyond the three-point arc and 83.3 percent
from the free throw line. For her efforts, Fossum was named to the
All-Tournament team.
