Player of the Week - Tony Lara, McKendree College [Columbia, MO]
- Tony Lara, a 6-6 forward for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been
named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball for the week
of Feb. 15-21. Lara averaged 23.5 points and seven rebounds for the week, guiding
McKendree its third AMC regular-season title in four years. Lara, who hails from Chicago,
Ill., hit 59 percent of his field goal attempts, connecting on 13 of his 22 shots. In
addition, he knocked down 78 percent of his free throws, dropping in 21 of his 27
attempts. |
