- Matt Laur, a 6-11 center for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been
named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball for Nov.
22-28. Laur led the Bearcats to a 3-0 record last week, including two victories in the
McKendree Classic, in which Laur was honored as the tournament's Most Valuable Player. The
big man from Kinmundy, Ill. averaged 19.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per outing last week,
in addition to 14 blocked shots and six assists. Laur connected on 77 percent of his
shots, hitting 23 of his 30 field goals attempts. |
