Player of the Week - Jerrod Thompson, Columbia College [Columbia, MO] - Jerrod Thompson, a 5-10 guard for the Columbia College Cougars, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball. Thompson let the Cougars to five victories between Dec. 7-18, pushing the team's record to 14-2. The junior from Mexico, Mo. recorded a field goal percentage of 60 percent, converting on 32 of his 53 shots and averaging 20.4 points a contest. Thompson connected on 50 percent of his shots from long range, hitting 14 of his 28 three-point attempts. He also proved deadly from the foul line, draining 24 of his 29 shots. In addition, Thompson passed out 3.6 assists, swiped 2.6 steals and grabbed four rebounds per game as well. |
