Player of the Week - Gina Bloemer, McKendree College

[Columbia, MO] - Gina Bloemer, a 5-8 senior guard for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for women's basketball for the week of Feb. 15-21. Bloemer led McKendree, who finished 9-1 in AMC play, to its first regular-season conference title in school history. In the game vs. Hannibal-LaGrange College that clinched the title for the Bearcats, the Teutopolis, Ill. posted her second highest point total of the season, netting 20 points. In addition, she passed out five assists and swiped two steals. For the week, Bloemer averaged 14.5 points and 4.5 assists.

Also nominated: Tara Shipp, William Woods University; Jennifer McCray, Harris-Stowe State College; Sarah Howell, Missouri Baptist College.
