Player of the Week - Nicole Hawthorne, Missouri Baptist College

[Columbia, MO] - Nicole Hawthorne, a senior for the Missouri Baptist College women's basketball team, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 22-28. Despite a two-point loss to Iowa Wesleyan last week, Hawthorne managed a double-double for the Spartans. The Belleville, Ill. native corralled 10 rebounds and scored 21 points in the loss, connecting on seven of 11 of her shot attempts from the floor. Hawthorne, a 5-11 forward, also showed her shooting touch from long range, hitting two of her three attempts from beyond the three-point arc.

Also nominated: Tracy Jentzen, William Woods University; Gina Bloemer, McKendree College; Ebony Dampier, Harris-Stowe State College.
