Lebanon, Ill.. – Hannibal-LaGrange College, the 2006 American Midwest Conference regular-season champions, took home three of the four top post-season awards handed out by the conference. The 2006 AMC All-Conference team was selected by a vote of the league's eight coaches.

J.P. Wunder, a senior forward for the Trojans, was selected as the 2006 AMC Player of the Year. Wunder, from Santiago, Chile, netted 15 goals and added four assists this season to lead the conference in scoring. Wunder is a two-time first-team All-Conference selection for Hannibal-LaGrange.

Zimmerman, a forward from Cancun, Mexico, finished right behind Wunder in scoring with 12 goals and nine assists for 33 total points.

The AMC Newcomer of the Year honor, the award presented to the league's top transfer player, has been given to Jarius Holmes of McKendree College. Holmes, a junior forward from O'Fallon, Ill., contributed five goals and four assists for 14 points during his first season with the Bearcats.

The Fair Play and Sportsmanship Award is annually presented to one AMC men’s soccer squad based on two areas of sportsmanship. First, teams are awarded points based on the total number of red and yellow cards accumulated throughout the regular season. Secondly, conference coaches vote on the squads, ranking their level of sportsmanship during their respective contests. The 2006 winner of the Fair Play and Sportsmanship Award is Williams Baptist College.
