Gibson, Engelbrecht Compete at NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships

Brookings, S.D. - (NAIA Winter Championships Tracker Page | Live Results) The American Midwest Conference (AMC) had two athletes compete on day one of the NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championships. Alicia Engelbrecht and Makayla Gibson, both of William Woods (Mo.), competed in the 5000-meter run.
Gibson ran 18:30.47 and placed 25th. She entered the event seeded 36th out of 36.
Engelbrecht finished in 31st place with a time of 18:38.16.
Both runners missed qualifying for the finals as the top 12 (top four in each heat plus next four best times) advanced.
The AMC will have four athletes competing on Friday - Khristen Bryant, Columbia (60-meter hurdles and pole vault), Mia Reed, Missouri Baptist (1000-meter run), Isabel Rinkenberger, Missouri Baptist (1000-meter run) and Katie French, William Woods (weight throw).
